Sunflower kernels in China contain 21 to 30 percent protein. Sunflower cake meal, which is produced after oil extraction, generally contains more than 50 percent protein.VEGNPROY®Sunflower seed protein is a high-quality, plant-based protein obtained from sunflower kernels. The kernels are hulled, defatted, sterilized, and milled to produce the protein.

The main components of VEGNPROY®Sunflower seed protein are globulin (55% to 60%) and clear protein (17% to 23%). Sunflower seed protein has a high concentration of the essential amino acids glutamic acid and arginine, with glutamic acid being the most abundant. Sunflower seed protein is rich in sulfur-containing amino acids, such as methionine. It is highly digestible and has a higher biomass value than most plant proteins.
